The public loses interest in politics when the majority of time is spent attacking the values of candidates, not addressing issues of value.

So…I have to ask.  Is anyone interested in the upcoming primary?

Irony: Trying to watch a video, about how your city didn’t get an ultra high-speed fiber network, and having to wait for it to load first.

It’s here.  Ready?  A Guinness World Record has been set.  Let’s go!  Last night, I was one of the hundreds that tossed a rubber chicken in to Rosa Parks Circle.  It was freezing cold but how many times will you get the opportunity to do that? LaughFest is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  An opportunity to be surrounded by laughter everywhere you go.  Take advantage of it.  

After Rosa Parks Circle I followed a group of friends over to Mojo’s.  There was an energy that you don’t normally find on a Thursday night.  Four national comedians came in and gave short, surprise sets.  One was from Hawaii.  I wish I was Hawaiian and not just for the punch.  

I ended the night at GP Sports to watch Ice Brigade with the cast.  Thanks to Randy Finch for the invite.  The episode, which had many seriously funny moments, featured a mechanical ice bull.  I had the pleasure of riding this in January and it ranks up there as one of my early highlights for 2011.  Grand Rapids is a great place to take a chance on a crazy idea - according to Men’s Journal.  I’m glad to see these ideas like LaughFest and Ice Brigade being rewarded.  

Tonight:  

1.  Kevin Hart will not disappoint the sold-out crowd tonight.  He is a recognizable face from a handful of movies but stand-up is where he shines.  His act is introspective and highly energetic.  

2.  Last Comic Standing Finalists Roy Wood Jr., Myq Kaplan and Rachel Feinstein will be performing at St. Cecilia Music Center (7PM).  All are talented but Feinstein is one of the best new comics going.  If you’re not going to Kevin Hart, go for her alone.
